As Educator, Cara helps provide trainings which bolster community literacy about human trafficking in the community by engaging with health care professionals, service providers, faith based organizations, etc. She works towards helping to create a well-trained community that is better able to identify, serve and empower survivors of human trafficking. Cara’s favorite aspect of Restore Corps is its holistic approach to engaging with the community, empowering survivors, and ending demand. She says the most rewarding part of her job is training and partnering with organizations across West Tennessee to work together to better understand and prevent the exploitation of the women and children in our communities. She describes Restore Corps as an organization made up of intelligent women who love Jesus and are devoted to providing rehabilitative services to victimized women and children, and to advocate for legal and cultural shifts in the community so that human trafficking can no longer thrive in West Tennessee. When Cara is not working, she can usually be found trying a new recipe or doing yoga. A random fact about her is that there are few foods she knows of that cannot be made infinitely more delicious by adding cheese.
