As one of the founders, it’s pretty tough to slim down Rachel’s impact or her memories. Rachel would likely say her favorite moment(s) – survivor care, team awesomeness, partnerships and more can be the moment when someone “gets it” – when a person experiences a new understanding of what human trafficking can look like locally and truly believe they have an individual way they can impact this injustice.
We all know Rachel will appear with coffee, water and an immediate thought to leverage the expertise of our team towards survivor barriers in our community, expanding partnerships and more. She, like our other Chatty Kathy, Coasy, loves to dialogue the ins, outs, individual and group impact on a problem or solution.
When a day gets tough, Rachel remembers the challenge from a friend, “If not you, then who? Who is choosing this work in all of its toughness and complexity? Why not you?”
