Coasy is the secret weapon holding our survivor services team together. Lovingly known as a Chatty Kathy around the office, everyone knows they better clear their afternoon when entering her office! Plus, you can always expect music when Coasy is around. She absolutely loves all kinds and uses it as comfort on hard days and a celebration on joyous days.
With a passion not just for the work but for the team she works with, Coasy loves the opportunity to bond with staff. Recalling one trip to Baton Rouge, New Orleans to meet with a fellow organization, she shared that “you don’t really know someone until you have gone on a road trip with them.” Overall, the trip was a much-needed morale boost for all in the middle of a pandemic.
With uncontrollable laughter, Coasy also shared her memory of an undercover op where she was placed with a Residential Advocate who was at her first op. As Coasy sat working, she started to hear bag after bag open. On the fifth or sixth bag of chips in a matter of minutes, she stopped to ask the RA if she was nervous. Both of them busted out in laughter, and after that Coasy always knew her tell when she was nervous—eating!
